iWELL Plastic Surgery’s

Forehead Reduction Surgery

iWELL’s forehead reduction surgery is performed on patients with a large forehead. It involves making a small incision along the hairline to pull down the scalp and fix it in place in order to shorten the length of the forehead. This procedure is especially effective for those with a wide forehead that cannot be addressed by hair transplantation, and it helps make the face appear smaller and shorter.

But wait… !

What’s the ideal length of the face?

The golden ratio for the face is 1:1:0.8 (upper area, mid area, and lower area).

When the forehead, which forms the upper part of the face, is too large, the face loses its overall harmony. At iWELL, we create a beautiful curve along the forehead that can be seen from the side and achieve a perfect length that can be seen from the front.

iWELL’s Forehead Reduction Surgery Procedure

Through iWELL’s forehead reduction surgery, the length of the forehead can be shortened with minimal scarring measuring about 1.3~2.0cm, on average. The forehead is designed considering the overall ratio of the face prior to surgery.

01 A small incision is made along the hairline.
02 The scalp tissue is separated meticulously and brought forward. The skin of the forehead that overlaps with the new hairline is resected.
03 A special-grade thread is used to suture the new hairline.

A diagonal incision (dotted line) is made along the hairline in consideration of the direction of hair growth in order to avoid damaging the hair roots (black dots). This allows hair growth even along the incision made into the epidermis.
