Long Chin Revision Surgery
iWELL Plastic Surgery’s
Long Chin Revision Surgery
Long chin or jutting/protruding chin refers to a condition where a person has a normal bite, but the chin protrudes forward excessively or the chin is excessively well-developed compared to other parts of her face. In this case, the chin is moved backward or osteotomized to be shortened, without affecting the jaw joints. This surgery revises the shape and length of the chin to become more harmonious with the other facial features and makes it possible to achieve a more youthful and feminine look.

Before & After iWELL’s Long Chin Revision Surgery
– Looks older than one’s actual age
– A fierce look created by the protruding chin
– Long and large face
– Cute and youthful face
– Slimmer face that looks more feminine
– Small face with smooth contours
Ideal Chin Characteristics
The chin should be located 3mm in front of the forehead.
When a line is drawn from the chin to the nose tip, it should be at an angle of 75~80° and be 4mm away from the upper lip and 2mm from the lower lip.
When a line is drawn between the philtrum and the chin, the lips should slightly project outward beyond the line.
The chin should have a smooth S-shaped curve.
The ratio of the top, middle and bottom part of the face should be 1:1:0.8.
Osteotomy-Based Long Chin Revision Surgery
In this surgery, osteotomy is performed on the protruding chin, which is then moved back and repositioned in a more appropriate place.
Because a part of the bone is removed or the bone itself is moved, it is possible to adjust the length of the chin, and the chin looks natural in terms of shape.
|01||A 2 to 3cm incision is made into the mucous membrane near the chin.|
|02||Osteotomy is performed on the chin along the predetermined cutting line and the bottom fragment is moved back.|
|03||The bone that has been moved forward is fixed in place and the incision is sutured with an absorbable thread.|
|Duration of Surgery||Anesthesia||Suture Removal||Suture Removal|
|Within 1 hour||General Anesthesia||Unnecessary||– Compression bandage for 2~3 days and returning to everyday routines after a week|
